Taking refuge in a magical local nook today.
Allowing fire, water, earth, air and a disco ball to restore me.
The temperature has dropped to a cool 29 degrees in Upstate NY and while normally this would promote creativity at home, this week I’ve been feeling anxious, very anxious. I stopped watching the news, deleted my account on “X” and am taking a break from Insta and Facebook. I need my nervous system to settle down and realign with my natural rhythm.
After spending a restless hour in my office fidgeting and staring at the computer monitor, I decided to break from the routine and relocate to Little Pecks, my favorite local coffee shop. Who wouldn’t be inspired here? They’ve got a fireplace, a water mural made from old pipes, plants everywhere, an open view of the sky, strong coffee and unique eats!
Here I’m surrounded by the reminder of possibility. The owner of Little Pecks, Vic Christopher, is a visionary. He purchased the building, which was formally a dry cleaner, and decided to break through the drywall and pull up the carpet. He happily discovered skylights, exposed brick, and hardwood floors. After renovating, the first of many businesses in the building was opened, Lucas Confectionery, a wine bar.

Once the wine bar was thriving, he opened up the side and back of the building to become Little Pecks. Here I will sit sipping coffee, eating, writing and creating today.
Be well,
Tracey
Looks very calming. I used to live up there in Auburn, NY. Coldest place I ever lived until Michigan :-)
